A message from Coach Dana about the upcoming clinic!

Hey skaters… are you ready for some hockey?

We’re just a couple of months away from the start of the 2017-18 Minnesota Special Hockey season, and as we did last year Coach Bill Thielbar and I are organizing a two-session 3 on 3 clinic to sharpen skills and learn some things about finding open ice and moving the puck. Those who attended last year really seemed to enjoy it, and I noticed a number went on to show improvement through the season.

The sessions are Sunday, September 17 from noon to 1 p.m., and Saturday, September 30, also noon to 1 p.m at New Hope Ice Arena. Attend both if you can, but one is fine if you can’t.  We especially want goalies to attend, and intend to have special coaching for netminders as we did last year.

This session is for intermediate to upper level skaters who do not need on-ice help. There will be opportunities for beginning and less-advanced skaters as the season moves along.

MSH generously is picking up the ice costs so all you need is a form proving that you have registered with USA Hockey, something required to sign up for the upcoming season anyway. You will not be able to skate without the printed USA Hockey form proving that you have registered.

Click here to register with USA hockey. You will not have to complete this step again when the MSH registration opens 9/1/17. However you will still need the USA Hockey number to complete the MSH registration, so don't lose it!

If you plan on attending or have questions, email Coach Dana from the Raptors at dthiede@kare11.com.

For beginning skaters wanting more skating instruction check out Dream Adaptive Skating at Braemar. Classes start soon! Here is more information:
