Learn more! Peterborough commitments due January 8th!

If you have never been to a Disabled Hockey Festival, we highly recommend attending each year. There are many great opportunities and experiences for attendees. Here are 6 things to know about Festivals, including the Peterborough trip this year.

1. A new city every year. Like the Olympics, Festivals are hosted by teams in different cities every year. This year the Festival will be held in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, March 15- 18th, 2017. This is a Wednesday through Saturday.

2. We mostly travel by bus. It's the most cost effective to get our players there. For Peterborough, our bus will leave sometime Tuesday evening, make a few stops every four hours or so and arrive during the day Wednesday.

3. We sometimes need a passport. Lots of festivals are held in the United States but occasionally we get the opportunity to travel outside of the country, which means everyone going will need a passport. There's no way around it. So if you want to go to Peterborough this year, make sure your current passport is up to date otherwise start the process now. DO NOT WAIT. This process takes time. Click here to go to our festival details page for more information on the passports.

4. We try to have at least one team which gets us 3 games. More players attending means we can split into more ability level based teams and play more games. Sometimes we have 3 teams! Sometimes other teams ask if any of our players want to play with them too!

5. There are lots of other great events including: Opening ceremonies featuring a Coaches game, All Star Game and Parade of Champions, Banquet and dance Saturday evening, and Closing Ceremonies. Each festival we also try to visit a cool local attraction whether it is a food place, a landmark, museum, etc.

6. Get to meet, hang out and play with players and families from all over the WORLD! We may come from all parts of the globe and seem very different but we all have lots in common, including HOCKEY!. We suggest Pin trading as a great way to start a conversation.
