Hockey Day is a premier event for Minnesota hockey, with events showcased on a national scale. Minnesota Special hockey was a feature at two Hockey Day locations this year. 

Skaters from the Eagles, Raptors, Wildcats and Polars traveled to Handke Pit in Elk River and played mini games during intermission of the high school games. While others skaters from the Muskies, Rams, Raptors and Stingers played mini games on Lake Nokomis during the US Pond Hockey Championships. 

Prior to MNSH taking the ice at the US Pond Hockey Championships, a pair of Minnesota Sled hockey teams played a feature game of their own.
