On Sunday, October 27th, Minnesota Special Hockey, in partnership with Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, MN, will host the first annual Minnesota Special Hockey Pre-Season Training Camp!
This fantastic one-day event, to be held the week before our regular season begins, will provide our special hockey players an opportunity to participate in an adapted and modified hockey camp in one of the most prestigious hockey settings in the United States. The day will include both on and off-ice sessions, and lunch will be provided in the middle of the day. Skaters and coaches from both the boys and girls Shattuck hockey teams and coaches from Minnesota Special Hockey will be on the ice to provide individualized and small group instruction throughout the day. Players from our teams throughout the state of all ages, ability levels, and years of experience are encouraged to sign up and attend! Groups will be split up based on skill level, and corresponding instruction and activities will be provided to challenge the skaters at their level. Multiple ice rinks will be utilized for the various groups. Small-group goalie instruction will also be made available.
Schedule for the day:
9:30 am Arrive at Shattuck-St. Mary’s
10:00 – 11:15am On-ice skating and skills practice
11:45am – 12:30pm Lunch
12:30 – 1:15pm Off-ice Session #1
1:15 – 2:00pm Off-ice Session #2
2:30 – 3:45pm Scrimmages and Shootout
4:00pm - Snacks & Drinks social time
Off-ice sessions include a variety of organized activities: shooting stations, activities in the dome (or outdoor turf if it's nice weather) including soccer, relays, agility, weight training room activities, and basketball/gym games. All activities will be organized and modified to ensure everyone can participate. Please bring appropriate clothing and shoes for this activity.
The afternoon ice time will incorporate Shattuck players skating alongside our Minnesota Special Hockey players in a fun team-building scrimmage. Please try to bring both your green and white jerseys in preparation for this scrimmage.
Following the scrimmage, we will have snacks and drinks to fuel everyone before they hit the road!
Our goal with this camp is to allow our players to experience what it is like to participate in a traditional hockey camp. Partnering with the Shattuck-St. Mary's hockey programs will allow us to provide the individualized and small-group instruction and attention needed to ensure all players are challenged at whatever skating level they may be at. We understand that a day-long activity may be a challenge for some players, and we encourage you to sign up even if you can only make it through part of the day's activities.
Shattuck-St. Mary's has donated all of the ice time and facility rentals at no cost to our program, so our players can participate in this preseason training camp at no cost! Parents and families will have access to a lounge area throughout the day if they wish/need to stay on-site.
To participate in this activity, MN Special Hockey players must have completed the 2024/25 MN Special Hockey registration process. First-year players are also encouraged to attend if they have completed the registration process. Check out the following video link to see what some of the day's activities will include: https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=6HEdhCeooeAwuWOh&v=ROXbmMTrsnQ&feature

The deadline to sign up is Sunday, October 13th.
MSH realizes that this camp conflicts with the last clinic in St. Louis Park and recommends that players choose only one event to attend that day.
With all MSH Registrations, look for an email confirmation to confirm completed registration.
