Eight year old Mali Carlson only started playing hockey this past fall. Learning to play is full of ups and downs at that age. Yet, she fell in love. The game had such a positive impact that she decided she wanted everyone to have the chance to play hockey.

So for her 8th birthday last month, she held a party at the local rink in Lakeville. She asked that in lieu of gifts, attendees make donations to Minnesota Special Hockey.

Included with the letter were a number of check donations to Minnesota Special Hockey.

Such a sweet gesture from a young mind thinking big!

From all of Minnesota Special Hockey to Mali Carlson, her family and the individuals who donated, THANK YOU! Your donations will help many individuals with special needs play the hockey for the first time this fall!

Letter Transcription:

MN Special Hockey Treasurer,

On June 4, 2017 my daughter Mali Carlson had her 8th birthday. She decided to have her party at our local rink in Lakeville and in lieu of gifts, request donations to go to MN Special Hockey.

She herself, started playing hockey this past fall and fell in love with the sport! She wants everyone to have a chance to play if they desire and hopes her collection of donations will help this cause!

All the Best!

Mali Carlson
